I never heard of a French Butter Dish before one of my Twitter friends recommended this to me. The idea is simple enough, and it allows you to have soft butter on your counter all the time.

From Barbara’s website:
My take on the French Butter Dish: French Butter Dishes keep butter soft AND fresh on the counter top. Fill the top with butter, fill the bottom with water and the water will create enough of a seal to keep the butter fresh at room temperature. This one holds a full stick of butter. It feels sweet in the hand, very ergonomic. It’s a shallow version of the French Butter Dish cylinder for better butter access.
Barbara makes her wares from porcelain clay on a pottery wheel and then glazes them with a glaze that is food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
I’m sure someone you know would love to get a Butter Bulb, a Honey Jar, or a Goldilocks Vessel. You can also visit Barbara at her studio website.
I hope you enjoyed today’s pick. If you see an item or shop that you’d like featured, please drop me a line!

I have a french butter dish and they are awesome! I hate using the tub margarine because I have no idea what’s in it. But it’s practical just from the spreadable perspective.
The french butter dish keeps the real butter soft and spreadable. LOVE IT!
