This Fall Leaf Ornament Craft is so simple to make and gives children a chance to practice the basic concept of sewing. Similar to the plastic sewing cards we played with when we were young, your child will lace ribbon through the wholes on the card. You can use a decorative paper plate like I did or let your child decorate a plain paper plate. You might find some nice turkey or Thanksgiving themed plates this time of year.
What You’ll Need For Your Fall Leaf Ornament:
- Decorative paper or paper plate
- Hole punch
- Leaves
- Glue
- Ribbon
How to Make Your Fall Leaf Ornament:
- Glue your leaves to the paper.
- Take the center circle from the paper plate and punch holes around the perimeter.
- Then lace ribbon, yarn, or twine through the wholes creating a lovely border around the edge of the plate.
- Use extra ribbon to make a hanger for your ornament.
