With fall leaves in high supply, it makes sense to utilize them for a fun nature inspired craft activity. This Fall Leaf Activity is a really fun project to do with your kids and you can adjust the level of difficulty to fit your child’s age/ability.
Supplies for Making a Leaf Wreath:
- Paper Plates (I used fall decorative paper plates from the supermarket)
- Glue
- Chip Clips or Clothes Pins
- A collection of Fall Leaves
- Single Hole Punch
- Yarn, Ribbon, or Twine
Instructions for Making a Leaf Wreath
- Cut out the center of the paper plate leaving the middle circle intact so that it can be used to make a fall ornament (see below). A younger child can skip this step and use the whole plate to make the wreath.
- Glue leaves to the paper plate ring clamping them down with the chip clips or clothes pins until the glue is dry. A younger child can glue the leaves on the center of the plate and does not need clips. You might use a heavy object to hold the leaves down until the glue is dry.
- When the glue is dry, remove the clips. Punch a hole in the top of the plate and string yarn, ribbon, or twine to make a wreath hanger.
