With fall leaves in high supply, it makes sense to utilize them for a fun nature inspired craft activity.  This Fall Leaf Activity is a really fun project to do with your kids and you can adjust the level of difficulty to fit your child’s age/ability.

Supplies for Making a Leaf Wreath:

• Paper Plates (I used fall decorative paper plates from the supermarket)
• Glue
• Chip Clips or Clothes Pins
• A collection of Fall Leaves
• Single Hole Punch
• Yarn, Ribbon, or Twine

This is an example of the simpler version of the Fall Leaf Wreath for younger children.

Instructions for Making a Leaf Wreath

1. Cut out the center of the paper plate leaving the middle circle intact so that it can be used to make a fall ornament (see below).  A younger child can skip this step and use the whole plate to make the wreath.
2. Glue leaves to the paper plate ring clamping them down with the chip clips or clothes pins until the glue is dry.  A younger child can glue the leaves on the center of the plate and does not need clips.  You might use a heavy object to hold the leaves down until the glue is dry.
3. When the glue is dry, remove the clips.  Punch a hole in the top of the plate and string yarn, ribbon, or twine to make a wreath hanger.

Clamp the leaves down to the paper plate until the glue dries.
