This was fun, it had all of the elements of the things I love to do. First was the concept. Second, I went to all my favorite “junk stores” in search of flour sacks, feed sacks and seed sacks. I actually found 15 before I decided to stop looking and get on with the project.
I did not wash any of them. They were clean and I didn’t want to lose any of the colors. Lastly, I made colorful bias tape by the yards. You know I used all the fabrics that I really didn’t like in a large piece, but loved as bias tape. Get a bias tape maker with instructions for the easy and clever way to make the tape quickly. Then I hemmed the edges with interesting stitches, attached the bias tape to the top edge with enough for a long tie in the back and the project was done.
