Painting with a new twist. Instead of using paint brushes, use paint rollers! I know that my son can get bored with painting, but changing it up a little makes it interesting again
Supplies for Painting with Rollers
- Washable paint, 1-3 colors
- 1-3 small rollers, enough for each paint color
- 1-3 containers, one for each paint color
- Paper
Create by Painting with Rollers
Place a dollop of paint in each container. Using the small roller, show your child how to use it to pick up the paint and apply it to the paper. Then sit back and watch them cover the paper as much or as little as they want. If you are using more than one color, it is best to let the first color dry slightly first.
More Ideas for Painting with Rollers
- Place stickers, such as letters or numbers, on the paper before painting. When your child has finished painting, pick up the items to see their print left behind.
- Create a sea using different shades of blue. Once the paint has dried, add stickers of fish, sea horses and other under the sea creatures.
- Create a garden. Paint with different shades of blue. Once the paint has dried, add stickers of flowers, trees, birds, etc.
This is the third in a series of craft projects that I’m sharing. The others in the series include Kaleidoscope Painting and Designing a Baseball Hat. These projects were originally shared at our local art museum, which hosts a monthly art day for kids ages 2-5.
