The Poinsettia flower is a sure sign that the holiday season is upon us.
This Poinsettia card combines the beauty of this traditional holiday flower with easy paper crafting and rubber stamping techniques to create a project that’s in keeping with the holiday spirit.

There is a short supply list for this project including, colorful cardstock, embossing powder and ink, heat gun, sharp scissors for detail cutting and most importantly a Medallion rubber stamp.
Medallion stamps are known for their intricate, layered designs which can be used to create a 3-dimensional effect.

You’ll need to emboss the Medallion stamp as many times as there are layers in the stamp. In this case there are five layers found within the Poinsettia stamp.
After multiple embossing , identify each layer within the embossed image and carefully cut each full layer. The layers will get smaller as you proceed.

Once all the layers have been cut out, use foam dots to stack each layer in order from largest to smallest. The foam dots separate each layer and give the individual segments lift.

Once the stacking is complete, you can attach the Medallion to gold trimmed cardstock for a beautiful card. Use left over wrapping paper to line your envelopes too.

The Medallion stamps are wonderfully versatile and can also be used for much more than cardmaking.
Add flair to a boring gift bag by attaching the finished Medallion. Now that’s a great look.

You can also use the paper crafted Medallion as a tree ornament for a fun an unexpected handmade addition to your Christmas tree.

These Poinsettia medallions are pretty, easy, fun to make and equally fun to give.
Here’s to a happy and crafts-y holiday season.
