Silhouettes are a great format for capturing your child and make for fun gifts. This version of silhouette art uses eggshells and a little creativity!
Materials: Lids of empty shoe boxes, collected empty and washed eggshells, white glue, pencil, scissors and paper.
- Save the shells from eggs. Wash them and leave to dry.
- Draw your child in profile in pencil on thick white paper
- Spread glue over the face and neck then squash the eggshells onto it.
- Fill in any gaps with smaller bits of shell and leave to dry.
- Cut out the profile making sure it fits within your frame.
- Slide it carefully into the lid of the shoe box for an instant shadow box frame. With a small weight they can stand up on a shelf.
