Utah is evidently the friendliest place on earth as well as being home to the Osmonds and David Archuletta, Season 7 Runner-up.
David Osmond’s (yes, those Osmonds) story will tug at your heart strings. He and his father both suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, but that hasn’t stopped either of them from pursuing their dreams. David follows in the family footsteps and heads to Hollywood.
Overall, kind of a dull night.
My favorite of the evening was Tara Matthews, 21, dressed from head-to-toe in black and lace – well, head-to-toe may be a bit of a stretch since there was quite a lot of flesh showing. Her singing was not Idol material by any standards, but she does have one talent worth noting. She has E.S.P. Tara is able to tell when family, or people on T.V., are going to die – she has of yet not been able to do anything to prevent their death. She was NOT able to read the judges’ minds, which was a shame.
Chris Kirkham, 26, decided to upgrade the old-school good luck charm – the rabbit’s foot – to a grown man in a rabbit suit. Oddly enough it didn’t work for him.
I really enjoyed Megan Corkrey, 23, and not just because she was a mother. She has a mesmerizing voice and even Simon liked her – he claimed she was one of his favorite auditions. I predicted she makes it into the top twelve – and clearly I am a bit of a musical expert.
Stay tuned for an extra night of Idol this week – New York City and San Juan!
