And now it is down to the judges. Which I think we all know means Simon. Without further ado….
Jesse Langseth, Tell Me Something Good: I really like the tone of this girl’s voice and she did do a nice job of showing her range. But she had some pitch problems. She looks good and has quite the sass factor, but I am not sure that was enough to land her in the top 12.
Matt Giraud, Who’s Lovin’ You: WAY better song choice than Coldplay. The way this guy does runs is incredible. And for someone who is typically behind the piano, he has incredible stage presence. If I was the other contestants, I would be terrified right now. AMAZING!!
Megan Corkrey, Black Horse and the Cherry Tree: I think this was a good song for her. She had some issues singing it and, frankly, she is really weird to watch, but the judges LOVE her. There is no way she isn’t getting through.
Von Smith, Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word: A bit of a rough start. He seems really nervous. He has a really good voice and impressive power. I agree with Paula here (which scares me), I think this guy just over thinks. If he would just let go, he would be amazing. I think that advice is too little, too late though.
Jasmine Murray, Reflection: I don’t think this is the kind of song the judges wanted. She has a good voice, but I think the song got the better of her. The ending was great, but she had some pitch problems throughout. Is it just me, or do the judges just really want this girl through regardless?
Ricky , Superstition: This guy is so good, but I think he keeps landing under the radar for some reason. He really doesn’t make mistakes and has amazing range. And he was quite the performer. If they let some of these clear judge favorites through over him, then that shows they already had their mind made up.
Tatiana Del Toro, Saving All My Love: Good Lord that opening interview made me want to vomit. And she went with Whitney again. I don’t even know what to say. If I close my eyes, I might think she is a good singer, but how can you get past all that is Tatiana? She is a train wreck who best be done after tonight.
Anoop Desai, My Prerogative: Didn’t he already do this too? It is hard to sell you don’t have time to learn a new song when everyone else has. He did a much better job this time than last time, but he didn’t out-sing Matt or Ricky so I think he is back to his office job. He is an entertainer, I will give him that.
So after some deliberation, rounding out the top 12 are Jasmine Murray (who, in my opinion, did not earn that spot), Megan (who I love, but she was majorly out performed tonight) and Matt (SQUEE!!!)…oh and apparently we have a top 13 cause Anoop squeezed through. Over Ricky….whatever. What did you think about their picks?

I was happy with the wildcards – with the exception of Jasmine Murray – who… I’m not sure WHAT it is. I kind of wish she would youngen (Not a word) herself up a little. And Matt Giraud – w00t (though I hated his scarf).
