When Kiernan McMullan asked me to check out his new songs on his MySpace page, I was more than happy to oblige. I had the opportunity to meet him when I went to an LFO concert in Pennsylvania last July, and during the time since then, I’m  honored to be able to call him my friend. Which is why I’m thrilled to be telling you about him.

To call him simply a musician would, to me, be an injustice. Kiernan’s writing produces songs with wisdom beyond his years and a level of relativity that spans all walks of life. He’s surprisingly young and exceptionally talented. The first album, Perfect People Are Boring, contains songs that make you stop and think as well as those that will get you on your feet dancing. Of the new songs that Kiernan has posted on his MySpace, I would have to say that “Running on Empty” is one of my absolute favorites. The music player has been on repeat all weekend.

For as talented as he is, Kiernan is also an amazingly gracious person. If you visit his Facebook or MySpace, you’ll actually get responses straight from the man himself. Kiernan does just about everything himself, and he takes the time to read and respond to questions and comments.
