It’s no secret that celebrity baby photos have been raking in the moolah. The first pictures of Shiloh, the celebuspawn of Angelina Jolie and the drool worthy Brad Pitt, brought in 4.1 million USD.
The first photos of the Britney Spears children also rolled in the dough.
It’s been said that negotiations are currently in the works for the photos of the new Jolie-Pitt twins to bring anywhere from 15-20 million USD. The Jolie-Pitt’s donated the money from Shiloh’s photos to charity.
What are your thoughts on celebrity baby photos bringing in these amounts?

Their kids, their business. They aren’t hurting anyone… and the hype and hoopla over them isn’t going away, and they know it, so they’re using it to benefit those in need. I think playing the game and then using the money for charity is pretty honorable.
I think it is absolutely obscene…not that they would sell the photos – that is completely their choice – but that photos of celebrity babies hold that sort of value in our society. If magazines didn’t get a return on that money with sales they wouldn’t pay it out so the public fuels those prices. I am glad to hear that they donate the money where it can do some good because if it is going to happen they might as well let someone benefit from it.
I agree with Michelle…it sells because we buy it…I just wish I could look that good after my little ones were born.
Utterly ridiculous.
I am of two minds – if they were just doing it for the money (to keep themselves) I think it is pretty awful to exploit their children that way.
On the other hand, these celebrities know that photographers will go to any lengths to get a photo anyway, and magazines will pay huge amounts, so why not have the baby photos done calmly and donate the money to charity. It won’t stop the mad photographers, but it will probably stop them hunting so hard for those ‘first’ shots.

It’s their life, they can do as they wish. The reason they get as much money as they do is because people care about their lives so much! If everyone just stopped caring about their lives, the baby commodity would be over.
