While I love all the medical detective dramas and reality TV, I still cannot get enough of my situation comedies. 30 minutes of laughing is long enough to keep me interested in the plot without getting stale.

The Lifetime network has two shows this fall that will keep you in stitches. Sherri starring Sherry Shephard from the View hits a chord with all women who have ever been let down by a man. And this girl does not put up with anything from anybody. The ensemble cast is full of witty women and men.

Rita Rocks returning for its second season is the story of a wannabe rock mom whose band includes a postal worker and her daughter’s boyfriend. You will empathize with the struggles of the mom played by Nicole Sullivan (“MADtv”) and her teen girl, who thinks she is ready to become a woman — with the boy in the band. I love Nicole and am glad to see her in a lead role.
Check them both out this fall on Lifetime — two good shows to lighten up your evening. Preview week is October 5. Set the Tivo!
