Cougar Town – Are You Serious??

Courteney Cox has signed on for an ABC pilot called Cougar Town. In the comedy series Cox will play a newly divorced middle-aged mother on the prowl.

Bill Lawrence, the creator and one of the writers for the comedy Scrubs, is cowriting the pilot. ”Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free,” said Lawrence, who first worked with Cox when he was a writer on “Friends.” “People don’t do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing.”

Cougar Town is expected to air in the 2009-2010 season.

Do you think the female audience will want to watch another sitcom about harsh reality of aging, worrying about your looks and prowling after younger men all while maintaining the perfect house and raising the kids? Isn’t Desperate Housewives enough?? Honestly – will you watch it?
