Trying to find a family-friendly activity to celebrate Earth Day this year? Disneynature’s first film, Earth, premieres in theaters nationwide on Earth Day, April 22nd! To get you and your family excited about this breathtaking documentary, Disneynature is giving away a variety of Earth-branded products including a canvas tote, a biodegradable tumbler, and a tree seedling to one lucky reader!

Earth, the first film in the Disneynature series, is narrated by James Earl Jones and tells the remarkable story of three animal families and their amazing journey across the planet we all call home. Earth combines rare action, unimaginable scale and impossible locations by capturing the most intimate moments of our planet’s wildest and most elusive creatures.

Directors Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, the acclaimed creative team behind the Emmy Award-winning “Planet Earth” series combine forces again to bring this epic adventure to the big screen, beginning Earth Day 2009.

I want to send Earth day with the people that I love planting some flowers and other things in our yard.
Probably will work in my yard and plant a new tree!
Hi!
What a neat contest! I’ll be spending EarthDay this year planting flowers in my garden and enjoying Spring! I’d love to win this prize package. Thanks for offering it!
I will be working on an Ecology unit with my 6th grade reading students. We are studying many different stories about the environment and environmental pioneers like Rachel Carson. Students will also be watching the movie Hoot which has kids trying to save the burrowing owl.
For Earth day this year my family and I will be planting our garden. Every year the kids really look forward to seeing what the garden produces!
I also subscribe to the Blissful Buzz channel!
we’ll probably go to a park (we don’t have a yard) and read some good books. i’ll have to find a good project to go along with our books.
i subscribe.
My husband and I are wanting to plant a Bradford Pear.
I subscribe!
I will be showing my son’s cub scout pack how to start their own container vegetable gardens.
I’m a subscriber!
I’ll spend Earth Day aware- I’ll use less electricity, drive less, eat local, plant something, and be aware of my impact all day.
I’ll be working in my garden, growing our own veggies, and we’ll probably go to the big local eco-bash in Balboa Park…but I don’t think it’s actually being held on Earth Day this year (must check.)
I plan on taking my entire Girl Scout troop to see the movie together on Earth Day. We will then each plant a tree seedling at a local park and earn a keepsake patch to commemorate the entire experience!
My husband’s birthday is on the Earth Day! so I would like to surprise him and bring him to watch this movie because we both love the nature! His simple way of living always inspire me of life for live less materially and see more! so we don’t own anything fancy but we spend our time enjoying camping trip and national parks.
Instead of buying him birthday gift, i will make a donation to WWF on his behalf.
I am spending Earth Day with my hubby, eating organic, local foods at a benefit dinner–for Earth Day!
Probably go for a run in the park- can’t lie, it’s the same thing I do most days. But it does make me appreciate earth!

Wow! I can’t wait to share this movie with my third grade students. All of the third graders from my school (120) in Louisiana will be going on a field trip to see the movie on April 29th. These students are very excited as many of them have never been to the movies and they all love animas. The third grade teachers at my school want to pass on our love of animals and saving the Earth. I talk about saving the Earth every week in my class so that they will have all the tools they need to make this a better planet.
I am spending Earth Day by riding my bicycle – which I usually do – to the Cinema with my sisters, younger brother, and two best friends, to see this movie. I am so excited. After the film, we are having an organic/vegetarian dinner at our house in our backyard, using candles for light. Ah just talking about it gets me pumped up.
I subscribe!
we have a new city park that was built last year. This year we will plant trees and flowers and the children will help to plant a vegie garden
I will be spending this Earth Day with my Cub Scout pack. We will be voluntering in a clean up at our local State Park. We will be cleaning up litter along Lake Erie shoreline, afterwards we will participate in a hot dog cookout and potluck. Volunteers can earn a tree seedling. I’m hoping that my boys will see that we all need to participate in taking care of our planet. To enjoy it we need to help protect it. After all of this I will be taking my kids to see Disney’s Earth movie. The previews look exciting.
Hope to join the world of Earth day celebrators and plant a tree – only with the girl scouts and watch the new movie of course.
I am a Girl Scout leader and I’m finding fun things for my girls to do. To start with, we’ll be planting flowers in pots so they can plant them later in their own yards, and then we will talk about way to protect our beautiful planet – recycling, energy conservation…. On following weekend, hopefully, we can go see the movie in the theater.
We read a book called 10 things I can help my World and then discussed what we can do ourselves with our 5 and 3 yr olds. They came up with many things including helping Dad with recycling, using both sides of the paper for art, and starting our own garden. We also participated in the 1 hr blackout on Earth Day. I know the kids will love to go to their first movie and I would love for it to be educational too!
We’ll be making earth day t-shirts and planting flowers. We also have someone coming to teach us how to start our very own compost!
We are going to do some gardening — the kids want to plant daisies!
The Kids and I are taking their dad to see the movie Disney Earth as part of his birthday gift and plan on planting in the yard a dwarft cherry tree just for him as it is his favorite.
We’ll be celebrating Earth Day by planting a garden and taking my daughter to the Nature Center!
Earth day happens to be my twin’s birthday also! So we celebrate by cleaning up our yard form the winter and recycling what we don’t need or use any more!! Thanks!
We contacted our local library and are setting up an ecology day, inviting youth organizations and local environmental representatives, to set up tables with crafts and displays. We will be planting a tree or two, and giving away sunflower seeds.
we will probably go to the park or work in our garden…
I will spend the day on a field trip with my 3rd grader and her class! They are planning on seeing “Earth” as their field trip this year! Free tickets and items would add to the learning experience for this class!
I’ll be working. Nothing special.
We are going to try to keep our power off for as long as possible, pack a picnic lunch and just enjoy the Earth with the kids!

This would be great! These days, I feel like everyday should be earth day. I am thinking of a play on “earth hour” that evening. Teach the kids how important it is to not take things for granted and remember how each of our actions affects the environment and our health!
I think we will work in our garden and clean up our street. What a great giveaway!
Cleaning up outside is a great idea! I have a creek running through my backyard that could benefit from some cleanup! Awesome giveaway!
I’ll be working outside with the kids. I think that maintaining our community is extremely important. Thanks for the great giveaway!
It’s my daughter’s 6th birthday and we celebrate birth and the cycles of life. This year we will be making art out of unwanted garbage.
I am hoping to bring my 3rd graders to the movie and then plant a tree seedling around our school! Happy Earth Day!
This earth day I plan to spend it with my 6 yr. old grandson and see the movie Earth and work in his special garden that he calls his “everything garden”.
My son is going to help me plant a tree and start a vegetable garden.

I cannot wait to take our 4th graders to see this movie!!! We are all so excited!
We have a 5-year-old daughter & we spend a lot of time trying to teach her the importance of protecting & respecting our planet. We are so happy that Disney has put this new movie out & we cannot wait to see it. We will be spending Earth Day as we normally do – walking around our town & removing any trash that is located on the ground. We will also be going to the Disney movie premiere that evening. We cannot wait!!
I’m excited about this movie coming out. I can’t wait to see it. This is a very educated movie about Earth and also about the things on it. I’m glad disney has made a movie out of this for everyone to learn from.
Can anyone tell me how you can get a tree planted in your honor, because I didn’t catch that on the advertisement.
