Week 2 of the Bachelorette sees the men moving into the bunkhouse aside Jillian’s mansion.  This episode definately brings out the inner competitor of each man-boy as they’ve already begun singling out other men they’re threatened by.  Dave, the first episode’s shy-guy-turned-first-impression-rose-recipient has a personal distaste for Juan, and isn’t afraid to voice it.  Did Dave really say he’d like to tie him to a tree and beat him!?  Oh Jillian, be careful of this guy and his temper!  And, most of the men feel Wes, the country singer, is only in the show for the exposure, not to find true love!  Things to ponder.

So, we learn that during this episode, there will be 2 group dates and 1 one-on-one date, and roses to be given on each.  First up Michael, Brian, Brad, Sasha, Tanner P, Wes, Ed, and Mathue are chosen for a pool party.  The guys are all amazed to see Jillian bikini-clad by the pool and she immediately chooses Michael to chat with.  Heading upstairs to her bedroom, Jillian and Michael only chat briefly before she leaves him.  Confusion all around, Jillian hops in a car and begins an L.A. style-scavenger hunt.  The guys pair up and hop in mini-Coopers with a map and vague info to search for Jillian.  The pair of Wes and Brad wins the haphazard race, and Jillian chooses Wes to spend dinner with alone locked in a vault.  The rest of the men arrive more jealous than before and watch via video as Jill and Wes share a kiss! Jillian lets some of her guard down here claiming she usually is attracted to the ‘bad boys’ and tells Wes she’s slightly intimidated by his good looks, ultimately handing Wes the rose.  Not so sure that was a good move.

More conservative, ab-o-liscious hottie Jake was chosen for the one-on-one date and first stop was the western store.  Jillian helped dress Jake similar to her for their cowboy-themed date.  Looking for the playful side of him, she found it in more ways than one when she learns he dances the two-step better than she can.  During dinner Jake cuts Jillian off mid-sentence with a ‘wet one’ and for the first time, I saw sparks fly for Jill!  To end the night, Martina McBride serenaded the couple.  My early vote is for Abs, er I mean Jake!

The last group of guys, Jesse, Mark, Dave, Mike, Simon, Kiptyn, and Juan head to the beach for a little basketball…oh yeah…with the Harlem Globetrotters!  Dave is back with his comments for Juan, after a little oopsie he does, nearly knocking Jillian to the ground.  I hear the words, “Man Code” from Dave’s lips too often this episode and he’s definitely intimidated by a smart, poem-writingl man, unlike himself, claiming he lacks testosterone.  After Mike dons a Speedo and jumps into the ocean to win Jillian’s heart and rose for the night, the men toast with a round of shots.  Juan, who prefers tea to alcohol apparently, fakes downing a shot and Dave again is appalled at his actions. Boys, lets calm down.  Not into petty man-fights, Kiptyn comes out of no where and is found to have kissed Jill the longest and most passionately this episode, well alrighty then.

The cocktail party before the rose ceremony is interrupted by Chris and his black voting box.  The men are now to choose who they’d least like to see continue in the game, rose holders excluded.  Juan is chosen and it’s up to Jillian to save him.  She definitely sees something in him and gives him the rose despite the men’s vote.  Final efforts to win a rose are seen by Robby the bartender, making Jill his famous “Rosmo” before she’s pulled away from Wes.  Wes claims that having the rose does not mean he will let up.  Brian gets a wild urge to strip down and cannonball nude into the pool.  Unfortunately, his efforts or for not.

The sweet sixteen are Wes, Jake, Juan, Mike, Jesse, Dave, Ed, Sasha, Mark, Michael, Tanner P, Kiptyn, Reid, Robby, Tanner F, and Brad (ew). Who’s your favorite so far? Who’s in the game and shouldn’t be?
