Looking for a movie to rent or purchase that the family can all enjoy? Here are two of my picks for the week, sure to entertain the family…yes, the whole family.
The Blind Side. This is a touching movie about what we can learn when we open our heart and our mind.
Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is a homeless teen who knows are the streets and projects of Memphis. Well-to-do Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) is thrust into his world. When she and Michael meet, he is taken in by the Tuohys who have now clearly found something just as life-changing: a beloved new son and brother. This real-life story of family and of Michael’s growth into a blue-chip football star will have you cheering with its mix of gridiron action and heartwarming emotion.
Where the Wild Things Are. See the review of the movie when it was in theaters back in the fall.
An adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s legendary children’s story in which Max, a disobedient little boy, is sent to bed by his mother without any supper. Feeling hurt and unloved, he channels his anger, and instead of continuing his mischievious antics in his room, he creates his own imaginary world which includes a forest, a massive ocean and a small boat, which he uses to sail away to a land inhabited by monsters – Wild Things – who crown him king.
Enjoy a fun weekend of family viewing!
