Big news, fellow Gleekers: Our favorite musical comedy (and America’s favorite, too, as the People’s Choice Awards have proven!) has been renewed for a second season! Way to go, Fox!
But that’s not the only reason to sing. To fill three new roles for season two, Fox will hold an open casting call.
That’s open, as in anyone, pros and amateurs alike, with the vocal chops between the ages of 16-26 can submit an audition tape.
Give Me My Remote reported all the details: “Anybody and everybody now has a chance to be on a show about talented underdogs,” said executive producer and creator Ryan Murphy. “No matter who you are – a Broadway talent or a struggling singing waiter with a dream in the Midwest – you now have an opportunity to make that dream come true by posting your talent video and showing us what you can do.”
So, if that sounds like you, start practicing now. And keep checking the Glee website for more details. Oh, and for some pointers, you might want to check out the current cast’s original audition tapes.
All right, ‘fess up: Who’s going to try out? I’d be all over it (ha!) if only I weren’t slightly past that age bracket.
