George Carlin passed away on Sunday from complications due to heart failure. He was 71 years old.
Carlin’s career was phenomenal. Even though a lot of his stick was raunchy he also had a more clear cut way of saying things that many of us only dreamed of saying. He even had a supreme court ruling stating his routine was indecent. That never stopped him he continued to perform on college campus’s, HBO and he even performed in Las Vegas last weekend.
Here are a few of his cleaner tidbits that he became famous for over the years.
"Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations. When you have to wait a year to sleep next to a tree, something is wrong."
"The very existence of flamethrowers proses that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, " You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done."
"There is no present. There is only the immediate future and the recent past."
" As a matter of principle, I never attend the first annual anything."
Carlin is survived by his wife, Sally Wade and his daughter Kelly Carlin McCall.
