The Synopsis
When the Glee Club is left out of the yearbook because of budget cuts, everyone seems to be relieved that they won’t have to suffer the ridicule of years past. That is, everyone except Rachel, who wants her legacy cemented in print. Meanwhile, Quinn makes it her mission to be in the Cheerios yearbook photo, and Will and Terri’s relationship is shaken to its core. (Fox.com)

The Quotes
- Strangely, it [a patriotic wedgie] did make me feel more American.
- Shu, I’m doing the Glee Club a solid.
- I miss my Cheerios uniform. It made me feel safe.
- Ken has a lot of flaws. He has 74 flaws as of yesterday.
- I could use a trusty lieutenant. I do have 65 proposals.
- Big ol’ potato head: you could write a haiku on that thing.
- That’s it? I practiced 18 different poses for this shoot.
- Aside from nudity and the exploitation of animals, I’ll do just about anything to break into the business.
- They’d have to choose between a Hitler mustache and buck teeth, and I can’t rock either of those looks.
- Oh, who are we kidding, Will? This marriage works because you don’t like yourself.
- You’re too busy chasing tail and loading your hair with enormous amounts of product.
- Is there any reason you have a soiled mattress in your office, Will?
- Dear Journal, I finally got Will Shuester and Glee Club out of my hair. This day will live in infamy.
- My baby bump isn’t that bad. It just looks like I had a big lunch.
- Her methods were wrong, but I totally understand her intentions. You’re a lot to lose, Will.
My Thoughts
- I’m not sure if Finn enjoyed Rachel’s flirting during the first “Smile” or if he was scared of her pinching and smacking.
- Why are they so excited to be in a commercial for mattresses? It’s not like she said, “Get ready to sell … designer jeans!”
- How stinking cute was that commercial/performance? Adorable.
- Wow. Will is mad. The resolution of this fake pregnancy situation was much more realistic than the whole season leading up to it.
- Well played, Quinn Fabray. Well played.
- Interesting that they ended with the jocks defacing the Glee page in the yearbook. I’ve come to expect a happier ending from Glee. Not that I minded the dark. It just surprised me.
What did you think about this episode? Too dark? A nice change of pace? And what do you think will happen next week at Sectionals?
