You sing like a girl – you know, in a good way.
Was this the best episode of Glee yet or what?? Oh my. I don’t think it was the funniest, and I don’t think it had the best songs – but this darned show made me cry!! Let’s get to it:
The Synopsis
When Artie’s chances of traveling with the group to Regionals are in question, Will challenges the kids to step out of their comfort zones and experience life from a different point of view. Meanwhile, the Glee Club hosts its first “diva-off” between Kurt and Rachel, and Sue reveals a softer side. (Fox.com)
The Soundtrack
- Defying Gravity (Wicked)
- Dancing With Myself (Billy Idol)
- Proud Mary (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
The Quotes
- I almost got in at Olive Garden, but they said I was too tall to be a bus boy.
- It’s my go-to shower song. It’s also my ring tone.
- I don’t think you realize how much harder Artie has it. // PREACH!
- It’s what I had leftover from my pool cleaning money . . . after I bought dip and numchucks.
- Wouldn’t it be awesome if it came out with a mohawk?
- I’m full of ennui. // So it’s really getting you down?
- Maybe one of these days you’ll find a way to create teaching moments without ruining my life.
- Those [ramps] are what I call lazy-makers.
- Nobody wants to buy from us. We’re losers. We’re in glee club and we’re in wheelchairs.
- Well, with this one dollar, we have . . . one dollar.
- I’m about to projectile express myself all over your Hushpuppies.
- I’m just really stressed about the bake sale.
- Well, congrats on the cool A or the high C or whatever.
- You think this is hard? Try auditioning for Baywatch and being told they’re going in another direction.
- And you are a terrible spy. You might try breathing to your nose sometime.
- I’m all about being a team player, but my family comes first.
- Your little sister’s here to see you!
- I would never try to push people away. Being in a chair kind of does that for you.
My Thoughts
- Wow – that jump rope routine? AWE-SOME! I know we’re supposed to hate the Cheerios a little bit, but I wanted to see more of that routine!
- Oh, Artie! You break my heart!
- Wait, what? Artie likes Tina? Since when? Did I miss this? (Seriously. Did you all notice this before? Where have I been?)
- How cute were Puck and Quinn in the food fight? I don’t normally love them, but in that scene – Loved. Them.
- WHY did they have to call it a “diva-off”? Ick.
- Whoa! Tina doesn’t have a stutter? I did not see that coming!
- I’m totally impressed that they learned how to maneuver those wheelchairs so well. Loved “Proud Mary.”
- It’s too bad Kurt blew his audition. I was hoping Mr. Schuester would decide to make it a duet. They both sang it beautifully. And made me even more depressed that I’m not seeing Wicked when it comes to town.
- Sue. What can I say about Sue? She made me cry. More than once. And not by saying, “You think that’s hard?” Wow.
Did you like this episode? Are you so happy that Glee is back?!

This episode ROCKED. Just rocked. It wasn’t haha funny . . . and I liked the change. I also loved how it gave screentime to Artie and Kurt and Tina. Nicely played. Nicely played.
