After the smooch that wrapped last week’s show, Alex asked Izzie if they were sleeping with other people. He proceeded through the episode, asking if he should keep sleeping with Michelle, or by mentioning that so-and-so thought he was attractive. In the end, Izzie realized that Alex’s statements were a result of his relationship cluelessness, and she told him she’d help him out with the relationship stuff. It’s been awhile since Izzie has had a storyline, hasn’t it?
Callie and Erica must have got it right because they looked quite happy with their exploration of foreign countries. However, for Callie it was good. For Erica, it was more of a revelation. She likened it to needing glasses and when she got glasses, realizing that the green globs she’d been seeing were, in fact, leaves. “I didn’t know the leaves existed,” she said. “You are glasses.” She also came to the conclusion that she is “so gay.” Callie, on the other hand, was speechless.
The episode opened with Meredith finding her old Anatomy Jane doll from when she was a kid – the Barbie-ish type doll had removeable organs. Meredith said she used to make up names for the organs since she didn’t know what they were really called.

Major Hunt came onboard, starting at Seattle Grace (anyone else doing the “told ya so” dance?). His arrival would reclassify SGH as a Level I Trauma Unit. Yang on the other hand was pure freaked at his arrival.
The Chief paged Bailey to the helipad to await the arrival of 10-year-old Tori, a girl with an inoperable tumor that the chief wants Bailey to operate on. He wants SGH to be the best, wants Bailey to be her best. He urged her to take charge and not to ask him about every little thing. Grey’s anatomy Jane doll is what caused Bailey to choose her for the surgical team.
While Grey was selected to be on Bailey’s team, the other residents were sent to a mandatory skills lab run by Hunt – tasked to save the life of a pig. Izzie refused and argued that in this age of technology, the harm of animals wasn’t necessary. A trauma came in, which resulted in Hunt taking the rest of the team with him and leaving Yang to work on the pigs by herself. Ultimately, Yang was able to save all the pigs, but in the end, Hunt told her they needed to be euthanized anyway because they would just be in too much pain from all they’d been through.
Callie and Sloan got it on in the on-call room, not once, but twice. She was testing a theory. Later she said to Sloan that she was upset because it was goiod with Erica and good with him. The fact that there wasn’t more of a difference was disturbing to her. Later, Callie confessed to Erica that she’d been sleeping with Sloan, to which Erica’s response was only, “Okay.” In the end, Callie and Sloan head out for a drink. As FRIENDS.

The team brainstormed on Tori’s surgery (all the while being watched by Tori’s very concerned family) and ultimately decided to take out six of her organs, put them on ice and then do what they need to do. Risky, but their best shot. During the surgery, the team was unable to reconnect the organs to the vessels but come up with an idea that works – whew, Tori is saved.
What did you think of this week’s episode? Do you love Alex and Izzie (together again)… How about Erica and Callie? What do you think about Hunt’s arrival on the SGH scene?
