Now, in select theaters, the film adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel “Jane Eyre” starring Mia Wasikowska (“Alice In Wonderland”) and Michael Fassbender (“Inglourious Basterds”) is now showing.
In the story, Jane Eyre flees Thornfield House, where she works as a governess for wealthy Edward Rochester. As she reflects upon the people and emotions that have defined her, it is clear that the isolated and imposing residence – and Mr. Rochester’s coldness – have sorely tested the young woman’s resilience, forged years earlier when she was orphaned. She must now act decisively to secure her own future and come to terms with the past that haunts her – and the terrible secret that Mr. Rochester is hiding and that she has uncovered…

I think To Kill a Mockingbird is by far the best book to film adaptation. It’s one of those rare cases where the film is every bit as good as the book!
The film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings really brought the book to life!
Gone with the Wind. Mostly because I have been calling on my inner Scarlet of late!
I absolutely adore the new A&E version of Emma – adore it!
I adore Wives and Daughters! But Jane Eyre is wonderful too.
My absolute favorite is Emma- the one with Gwyneth Paltrow!
I’ve got to go with the 1940′s adaptation of Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. It’s my favorite book in the world, and Joan Crawford is just stunning as the new Mrs. De Winter.
It’s not exactly the same, but, A Beautiful Mind!!
It is hard to choose, but I love the Keira Knightly version of “Pride and Prejudice.”
I would choose The Lovely Bones. Thanks!
Ah– so hard to choose! But I think the Emma Thompson Sense and Sensibility is my favorite.
Definitely Lord of the Rings…I can’t wait to see an adaptation of Ender’s Game!
It would be “Pride and Predjudice” for me, too. Watch it several times a year when I need my “Mr. Darcy” fix,
My fav book to movie adaption: Circle of Friends.
Loved the book, loved the movie.
I guess I’d have to say Eat, Love, Pray – I thought it was pretty good. There are a lot of really good books but not all turn into movies well….oh, and I love Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck – the 1939 and 1992 movies were both great (of course I like Gary Sinise so that may have been why I liked the 1992 version better lol)
Oh my word…I just watched and re-watched the video clip…holy moly it is going to be awesome! I have many classics that are favorite movies; Pride & Prejudice (the A&E version), Emma, Little Women, Persuasion (the BBC version). I can’t wait to see this one! Great giveaway…and thanks for the heads up!
Me too Maryellen, me too!
Love that one too Missy!
Ooh…love Jane Austen too, I love the A&E version, but have grown very fond of the version that Keira did, it was excellent!
You are so right Lesli Joe, it was fabulous!
I must admit it is Twilight, even though I saw the first movie first then devoured the series twice!
I am looking forward to seeing Jane Eyre. I love all things Jane Austen too, but also really like I Remember Mama with Irene Dunne. It’s an oldy, but goody.
To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and the Chronicles of Narnia
