I’ve resigned myself to not caring if DeAnna appears on this show, the teasers are getting old.
So this episode we find Jason heading to New Zealand for 3 fantasy dates with Jillian, Melissa, and Molly. Just saying that is just odd, and unnatural, something so many men would envy. The show so very much reality TV, but yet, so so unreal.
Just as the show was beginning, I had to stop short and replay something that Jason said. To make sure I heard him right, I rewound and listened to him say, “Girls like Melissa scare me. She reminds me of DeAnna and my Ex!” OMG. Really. My hubby was right. From the beginning, my partner in crime TV-watching told me that Melissa was a doppleganger for DeAnna, but to hear Jason SAY it….hmmm…?!?
On that note. First date up is with Jillian. A chopper swoops her up and takes her and Jason on an aerial tour of New Zealand. They arrive on a cliff overlooking the country. The conversations turns a tad sour as she says what could be her kiss of death, “I’m looking for my best friend.” Well, Jason is not a chocolate lab, and as much as it sounds good because her grandparents are friends and play cards, I felt a pang in my heart that foresees her departure tonight. Jason has loved the fun, the exciting, and the independence Jillian has offered, but the passion is what he desires.
What seems to be a step in the right direction, their heat fires up in the hottub after they decide to share the fantasy sweet. For a moment there, I cleared the steam collecting on my glasses and tried to remember what channel I was watching. The heat was there, was it enough?
Molly has the next date with Jason and the first thing on their agenda, good old fashioned Bungee Jumping! Poor thing, as much as she’s my least favorite, I did feel sorry for her and the fear in her eyes as she realized that she couldn’t back out of this “adventure.” She made it through, despite realizing that Jason screamed like a child the whole way down, she even wanted to go again. She is such a competitor, probably wanted to go just that much further down too. Always trying to win, that girl!
Later we see the couple having a snack and chatting. Molly pulls out a list of questions for Jason, trying to get to know all the little things about him. Cute, but childish. Jason has a child. Is this how it’s going to work? At dinner Molly confides that she and her family are not “mooshy gooshy” people and although she doesn’t show it, she feels strongly for Jason, and she is “falling in love” with him. Any kind of dissonance Jason felt about Molly melted away as she said this. Exactly what he wanted to here, and she knows it.
Melissa’s date with Jason is last and they head out on boat cruise. Jason has said that the romance and passion with Mel has been there from the beginning, but will the absence of meeting her parents be something that sends her packing? In the hot pools (fancy name for a hot tub), Jason asks Melissa if she’s talked to her parents, and the answer was no. At dinner she asks Jason point-blank if missing her parents was a deal-breaker and it isn’t, she’s invited to the fantasy suite.
Just before the final rose, the girls give their final words to Jason. As much as I wanted to think that Jillian’s words meant alot, she lacked the love. By love I mean, she didn’t flat out say, “Jason, I’m falling in love with you,” the final nail in the coffin.

Melissa and Molly are chosen to stay in New Zealand and meet Jason’s family as well as Ty. Jillian’s exit was painful and I thought for a moment Jason was going to change his mind, but alas Jill’s words were a little too late.
I was rooting for Jillian, and I was sad to see her go. Next week we’ll see the Women Tell All episode, and are continued to be teased with DeAnna’s return, which will play out uneventful i’m sure, so I’ve stopped holding my breath.

Great recap! Is it just me or was it strange that they didn’t show a teaser for the final rose ceremony yet went straight to the after the rose. Maybe it’s there way of trying to make us think that he takes Deanna back which I pray doesn’t happen.
