For the past week, the music in my ear (in the car, in the house) has been the newest release by Linda Eder called “The Other Side of Me” (available for purchase via Barnes & Noble, or digitally on iTunes). Linda Eder has a strong voice, and the album is enjoyable – it is, for the most part, pop with a light country touch to it.
The songs that keep getting caught in my head are the three penned (or co-written) by Shaun Barker – “Pieces”, “Other Side of Me” and “Make Today Beautiful”. Those three are particularly catchy, and will quickly have you humming along. The album features a few covers including Bread’s “If I Could” and Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” which seem somewhat out of place on the album. You can hear clips of these songs on Linda’s website.
The One2One Network is giving ONE Blissfully Domestic reader an opportunity to win an autographed copy of this cd PLUS an autographed t-shirt. To enter, leave a comment below telling me what you’ve done to “make today beautiful” for yourself. Tweet this contest and leave me a comment letting me know for an additional chance to win. Winner will be chosen Tuesday, December 9.

My boys and I painted gift bags for Christmas presents. It was great.
I am always in for a giveaway. I have been downloading new music a lot lately. I have tired of everything I have already. I am a teacher and I made today beautiful by journaling about some of the funny things that my students say. I call it my bad day book and I keep it at school and periodically look through it and reminess on some of the funny things students have said in the past.
Last night the boy and I decorated the house. The look on his face this morning when he realised that we hadn’t taken the decorations down was enough to make today beautiful. Have tweeted too – @glowstars
I listened to a few of the song snippets and you’re description is right on; pop with a light country touch to it.
I am not sure if what I am doing today counts as beautiful but I am having my eyebrows waxed and if you could see the state of them you might consider waxing a beautiful thing…
Thanks for the giveaway!
i sat and read blissfully domestic entries while the kids slept!
This weekend I sat down and wrote letters to all the people who are dear to me and I told them how special they were and how much I love them. It made me feel beautiful to share the gratitude I have for my friends and family…and my life.
I decided to quit my job and move back home to my family who needs me very much while facing a family tragedy.
