Choosing a wedding song is a really important decision. The perfect wedding song should not only represent the bride and groom, but also their life and love for each other. It’s the first song on the soundtrack of their married life, so the choice has to be flawless.
In a world filled with beautiful music, finding the perfect song for your wedding can be a challenge. There are so many beautiful, timeless wedding classics. How can a couple narrow it down to just one song that portrays their love for each other?
The Greatest Of These Is Love
Christian artist Brandon Heath‘s Love Never Fails is the perfect wedding song, because it reminds us what love is. Inspired by a passage of scripture from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 that he came across while doing a bible study, Heath wrote the song that has become a fan favorite at weddings all over the world.
Some will tell you that when Paul wrote his letter to Corinth, he wasn’t referring to the romantic love between a husband and wife. Okay, maybe that’s not what he was thinking about, but you can’t deny the entire passage can certainly be applied to marriage. If we follow those guidelines in our relationship with our spouse, we help put ourselves on the right track to years of wedded bliss.
So this wedding season, if you’re looking for the perfect song to kick off your life as husband and wife, might I suggest Love Never Fails by Brandon Heath. What a beautiful way to put the rules of love and marriage to beautiful music, and to remind us “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Hi Chrissy!
Great song choice and lovely blog post! You GO girl! Posted a TT Wedding Song choice on my blog today too!
Love yours, Beth! Thanks for playing!
Thanks for stopping by, Kerri!
You’re so right, Tracee! Thanks for reading!
The hubs and I lacked a love song so we went with someone’s suggestion. OK just not us. Believe it or not, our song was “Beat It” by Michael Jackson, whose Thriller album was huge in the mid-1980s; good beat, happy summer. Just not a wedding song!
Honestly, I had to ask my hubby the name of the song suggested by my mom. It was “I Celebrate My Love for You.” We’re still celebrating.
Blessings, Lucy
Lucy, it’s so good to hear that after all this time, you and your hubby are still celebrating! Congratulations!
