Monsters vs. Aliens is filled with silly things for the kids, and adult references that kept me laughing too. Plus, Seth Rogan now has a permanent spot on my Netflix list.
In the movie Susan (Reese Witherspoon) is hit by a radioactive meteor on her wedding day saving her from marrying a jerk, but making her grow to 100 times the normal height and width of a person…even an animated person.
She is captured and wakes up in an Area-51 like place where she meeting fellow inmates B.O.B (Seth Rogan), Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie), and Missing Link (Will Arnett) – who have been living together and imprisoned for some time.
When an alien (Rainn Wilson) threatens to take over Earth with clones of himself, the team is released from their monster prison and enlisted to help fight the battle for Earth.
What ensues is a comedy of errors, a battle with enormous robots, and plenty of action – much of which would be best viewed in the 3-D version of the movie.
Bottom line: my kids laughed, I did too, and it was just long enough to knock off a Large popcorn between the three of us, but not too long that we couldn’t hold our pee. In all – a great movie day for the family!
