On Tuesday, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 came out in movie theaters all over the nation. The four ladies in the movie embark on a journey of growth which began in the first movie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
The movies are based on the books written by Ann Brashares. This sequel picks up three years after the first movies and the girls are still sharing the traveling pants. The girls encounter problems that many young girls face: pregnancy, breakups, career opportunities, coming to terms with loss, and even makeups. The movie has a fabulous message about coming of age and the power of friendship.
Stars in the flick include Alex Bledel of Gilmore Girls, America Ferrera of Ugly Betty fame, Amber Tamblyn, and Blake Lively of Gossip Girl.

Another movie that you can see in theatres this weekend is Pineapple Express. This movie is from the same guy that brought us SuperBad.
It’s a comedy starring Seth Rogen (you may have seen him in Knocked Up) and James Franco of Spiderman fame. While the movie is rumored to be hilarious, it is rated R for lots of reasons. So don’t let the word pineapple in the title fool you into dragging your children into it and expecting to see SpongeBob. But still, if you love comedy and Seth Rogen, it is likely a must see.

I do have to admit to having the slightest crush on Seth Rogen. He makes me laugh and he has a cute little smile. I’m not ready to replace my other crush yet, Kevin James.
I loved the first Sisterhood movie (and the books) but will be waiting until the movie comes out to rent or I can find it online until I see the second. I would love to go to the theater to see it, but the prices just keep rising and I have to drive an hour and a half just to get to a theater close to me. Can’t wait to see it, though!
