Welcome back to another installment in New DVD Releases. This week I am going to feature a few of the latest and greatest releases on DVD. I am also going to showcase a couple of great treats for you and your family to enjoy.
At the tip top of my list is Baby Mama. It is a story of a woman, played by Tina Fey, whose biological clock is ticking and she is rip roaring and ready to have a baby. Unfortunately, her body does not want to follow along in the plan. So she does the next best thing, she hires a surrogate, played by Amy Poehler. What happens next is a wild roller coaster of events between these two very different women. The movie is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual humor, and language and it runs for 96 minutes.
The Forbidden Kingdom combines two of the greatest martial artists of our time, Jackie Chan and Jet Li. The movie centers on the fable of the Monkey King. The movie showcases the talent of both of these great actors. The movie is rated PG-13 for martial arts and violence. It runs for 113 minutes.
I have some great snack ideas for this weeks post. They all come from The Pampered Chef “Let’s Eat!” cookbook.
Fluffy Peanut Butter Dip
What you will need:
1. 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
2. 1 container (6-8 oz) vanilla yogurt
3. ½ cup thawed frozen whipped topping
4. Apple wedges, strawberries, celery sticks, pretzel sticks and graham cracker sticks.
Put peanut butter and yogurt in a small batter bowl and whisk until smooth. Add the whipped topping to the peanut butter mixture and mix well. Serve with your choice of dippers.
Honey Bear Snack Mix
What you will need:
1. 3 cups square rice cereal
2. 2 cups cinnamon bear shaped graham crackers
3. 2 cups mini pretzel twists
4. 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
5. 2 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey.
6. ½ cup yogurt covered raisins.
7. ½ cup candy coated chocolate pieces
Set oven to 350 Spray bar pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place the cereal, bear graham snacks and pretzels in a large bowl. Put the butter in a microwave safe bowl and place in microwave oven for 45 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave and add the syrup to the melted butter mix well. Pour the butter and syrup over the cereal mixture and stir gently. Pout the cereal mixture into the bar pan and spread it evenly over the bottom. Bake the snack mix for 12 minutes. Remove pan from oven and place on cooling rack. Wait until it is completely cool. Spoon the snack mix into a large bowl and stir in the raisins and chocolate pieces. Enjoy!!
