New DVD Releases:
This week has some great new DVD releases coming out. This is sure one way to stay at home and have a great night with the family without breaking the bank.
The Love Guru stars Mike Meyers as a self help specialist who returns to America to seek fame and fortune. He is hired by a Pro Hockey team owner, played by Jessica Alba, to bring their star player and his wife back to marital bliss. There is one obstacle — the wife is now dating another hockey player, played by Justin Timberlake. Through some crazy comical twist and turns, The Love Guru must help turn things around and get the hockey star back in fighting form so he can lead his team to the Stanley Cup. The move is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, language, violence and drug reference so this is one you would want to watch once the kids have headed to bed. The movie runs for 88 minutes.
Maid of Honor stars Patrick Dempsey (drool) as Tom, a man who has it all: success, happiness and great luck with women. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder… and it is true in his case. When his best friend Hannah, played by Michelle Monaghan, goes on a six week business trip, he finally realizes she is the person he wants to spend his life with. Once she returns from her trip he plans to ask her to marry him only to find out that she has fallen for another man and is planning to marry him. In a strange twist of events she asks Tom to be her maid/man of honor. Tom sees this as the perfect way of showing Hannah that he is in fact the one for her. The romantic comedy is rated PG-13 for sexual content and language and runs for 101 minutes.
Speed Racer brings to life an old comic series. Speed Racer tells the story of a racing family who does not let greed or death stand in their way. Holding on the a legacy and the remembrance of his late brother, Speed Racer, played by Emile Hirsch, vows to fight corruption in the racing world and to drive on to victory to save his family legacy. Speed Racer knows that he can not do it alone so he relies on the help of his family, his girlfriend, played by Christina Ricci, and even his longtime rival, played by Matthew Fox, to win the race.
