Did you hear that Ugly Betty isn’t going to be ugly much longer? Apparently she’s learned to straighten her hair, wear color-coordinated clothes and groom those runaway eyebrows. And this week, those braces are finally coming off.
For about one and a half seasons, maybe two, I was a big fan of Ugly Betty. It’s smart, it’s funny, and it’s deliciously over the top. But then it got moved to Fridays, and since the start to my weekend is already all full up of Facebook stalking and Wife Swap marathons, that just didn’t work out for me.
I haven’t missed it, to be honest, but two weeks ago, I couldn’t find anything else to watch on a Wednesday night. (And it’s not like I was going to just turn off the television). I kept flipping around until I saw her: my old friend, Ugly Betty.
I had forgotten how much I loved that show!
Of course, this is the last season of Ugly Betty. Still, now that I’ve remembered it, I’ll watch it to the end.
This isn’t the first time I’ve tuned back into a show in its final hours. When I heard that Friends was starting its last season, I started watching every week. Yes, that last season turned into the last two seasons, but that’s neither here nor there. I did the same thing with the supposed last season of Scrubs, which has now turned into The Show That Won’t Die.
You can watch Ugly Betty, too, on ABC on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. CST. Don’t wait too long to get caught up, though. The final episode will be aired on Wednesday, April 14.
Have you ever forgotten how much you love a TV show? Or started watching a show in the last season?
