The show begins where we left off last week — checking in with the Fong tribe and their bickering and inability to figure out this game. They are already almost out of rice and the game blame begins. It is worse than watching a political debate. GC and Randy square off and trade verbal jabs.
We jump right into a reward challenge with a good old fashioned wrestling match. Well not exactly, but it is a strength challenge, so it would seem it should be a slam dunk for Kota. And initially it seems like it will be. But when Paloma goes up against Randy and Crystal momentum shifts. In a nail biter finish, Fang wins reward and takes home some sleeping supplies. They also chose to send Sugar to exile island.
While Fang heads back to camp celebrating their first victory, Ace and Paloma square off over at Kota. Clearly there is no love lost here. Meanwhile over at exile island, we get some insight into Sugar. She is clearly not at home in the outdoors, but came on Survivor to help process through the death of her father who died 7 months ago. But against all odds she shows up the lawyer (Dan, who was hopeless at finding the idol last week) and captures the immunity idol.
Hey, who pulled out the slip and slide for the immunity challenge? Six players have to slide into the water and retrieve tiles and race back. Then one remaining team member has to solve a math puzzle to unlock a combination. This brings about the math nerd contest of the century with Bob the physics professor competing against Ken the video game champion. It is another nail biter with Ken pulling it out for Fong, proving that you should just let your kids play video games instead of doing homework.
Scheming continues back at Kota as they scramble to save themselves from being voted off. Marcus, Charlie, Corrine and Jacquie have pulled in Bob to help them with a swing group. Sugar and Ace are clearly aligned as Sugar makes the questionable move to let Ace in on the secret that she has found the idol. Paloma and Ace both try and take control of the game by convincing the tribe to vote the other one off. While creative editing leads us to believe there is some question as to who might be voted off, in the end there isn’t much surprise when Paloma is sent packing.
