If you were like me, you though Jillian Harris was the perfect match for last season’s The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick. Unfortunately, Jason chose Molly over Jillian, then proposed to Melissa, then went back to Molly again. So maybe it wasn’t so unfortunate.

Jillian, a true fan favorite, was chosen to be ABC’s new Bachelorette, facing a crowd of 25 men vying for her love and attention.

Although the intro to the show rehashed the pain and suffering from her departure from last season’s show, the gorgeous Canadian rebounded to meet her potential suitors in a stunning white gown that made her look extremely sexy as well as angelic.

Some highlights include Jake, a pilot, handing Jillian her first set of ‘wings.’ How very sweet! Jesse, a winemaker from the Carmel Valley, donned a t-shirt under his suit that read, “Aspiring Canadian,” that seemed to have made points with Jill. And, anyone for a break-dance competition? Michael, a break-dance instructor, and Greg, a fitness model, decided to have a dance-off for Jillian’s love. I love a guy who can spin on his back!

A few fun quotes from Jillian over the course of the night, to Chris Harrison, “Easy on the H [husband] word!”   The best one, after a few glasses of wine, “Each guy keeps getting better looking!”

In a major twist in the first episode, Chris announces that there was a huge outpouring of applicants for this season’s show.  In walk 5 more men, making the total number of suitors, thirty!!  If Jill thought the first 25 were charming, just wait until she realizes Tanner P has a major foot fetish!

Before the rose ceremony, Jillian has a first impression rose to award, and she chooses Dave.  Dave’s official first impression out of the limo was stone silence.  He was literally at a loss for words, and Jillian gave him a second chance that proved rose-worthy!

Ultimately, the 20 men moving on to the next stage of the game/quest for love are…Kiptyn, Brian (who called Jill “Hot Tub Harris” out of the limo), Jake, Dave, Tanner F, Michael, Robert, Sasha, Brad, Mathue, Simon, Jesse, Julien (Julien and Jillian really!?), Wes (wrote her a song), Juan, Mark, Ed (Greg Brady lookalike), Reed, Mike, and Tanner P.

The season looks exciting full of abs, drama, and dreams of love.  I’m looking forward to it!
