Are you the parent of a toddler or preschooler looking to break away from your normal repertoire of children’s music? Then allow me to introduce you to The Silly Dilly Band.
The Silly Dilly Band hails from New York and were the recent recipients of a Parents’ Choice Music Award for the Spring of 2011. The band performs live shows as well as parties and corporate events.
Their debut album, Come Out and Play, is ideal for the young toddler to pre-school crowd. All of the bands songs are rhythmical and very repetitive; think of them as a female version of another all male children’s band.
While the songs are lively and would easily engage very young children, it sometimes appeared that the band was trying too hard to be cutesy. I also thought some of the songs were too long for their target audience of 1-4 year olds.
Their CD included upbeat dance songs, such as Robot Dance, as well as interactive songs like Hey Look. They also included a beautiful lullaby, Time for Dreamland, to help get your over sleepy toddler dreaming in no time.
You can find The Silly Dilly Band touring through New York this summer and keep up with them on Facebook. You can also find their album on Amazon.
