It has been a very long time since I enjoyed a concert as much as I enjoyed the Yanni Voices concert last weekend. It was phenomenally entertaining. Yanni writes music that reaches in and grabs your heart; music full of power, passion, and intense emotion. And now his compositions have an added dimension…lyrics. He and Ric Wake have teamed up with four incredibly talented singers to produce the Yanni Voices project. Leslie Mills’ soulfully raspy voice reflects a depth of sound reminiscent of the old jazz greats. Chloe’s vocal range and stage presence are simply captivating. Ender Thomas’ distinctly Latin flavor brings high-octane (OK, and hot) energy to the show. Nathan Pacheco is a tenor whose abilities and sensitivity to the music are sure to make him a standout for years to come. And of course, Yanni and the other instrumentalists delivered BIG time. There were several opportunities for the orchestra members to show their stuff…and did they ever! These are some truly gifted musicians.

The concert was full of heart-pumping excitement, stirring melodies, endearing interactions between Yanni and the audience, and thrilling choreography. If you have the chance to catch them on their North American tour, GO! I promise you will LOVE it.
