These pictures were taken with my Fuji Finepix S5000. I originally posted this set of Out Takes on November 7th, 2007, in response to all the comments about a shot that I used for Wordless Wednesday.
I have resurrected this post to show that it’s not always easy to take pictures of real, live, moving subjects. It takes time, patience, good light (or a flash), and plenty of cooperation!
At the time I titled the picture “Sit and Stay”. After a little cropping and framing, this was the end result:

I know the pain. I tried to do one child this weekend and only one out of the 60 that I took came out. And he had that stupid “cheese” face.
My best advice is try not to take a picture with him smiling. Get him playing with some tinsel, or holding his stocking, or playing with some primary colored blocks, or what-have-you! You’ll be surprised how much you’ll love a shot of your guy not smiling!
