Field Trip! Weren’t those great words to hear when you were in school? What was better than taking a trip to a place outside of your normal everyday? Sometimes it was a place that you went to often, but you were able to see the behind-the-scenes action. Plus, your friends were with you, and that makes anything much more fun.

These days I like to take what I call “Photo Field Trips.” I plan a trip out somewhere with the sole purpose of taking pictures. The first time I did this was to a near-by road side attraction. If any of you are familiar with the movie “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” than these will be familiar to you…..

These dinosaurs are very near by and I pass them all the time. On my field trip I played tourist and read all the interesting information about them and took a ton of pictures. I took something that I see daily and looked at with what I call my “photographer eye.”

Why not plan your trip… and then take a fellow photographer with you and have fun comparing pictures!
