In the first year of life a baby’s looks change so much. At their first birthday it is hard to remember them as that wrinkly tiny newborn. I have found a great way to document these constant changes is to do a little monthly photo shoot with your little one.
Capture the First Year’s Changes Through Photography
To really capture those first 12 months here are a few tips.
- Do the photo on the same day every month. The easiest is to do it on the day your baby was born.
- Use the same background so they will look uniform if you frame them later.
- Try to dress your baby in the same color (i obviously forgot this one the 3rd month)
- When photographing a baby remember to do it after a nap or feeding so baby is in the best possible mood.
- Use something to show what month you are photographing.
I have been using wooden number blocks to show what month the picture is from.
- Use the same object as a prop each month to show how big your baby is getting.
I have been using this stuffed monkey for size comparison.
This little photo project is great for the baby books. After one year you will be amazed at how much your little one has changed in 12 short months.
