In the first year of life a baby’s looks change so much. At their first birthday it is hard to remember them as that wrinkly tiny newborn. I have found a great way to document these constant changes is to do a little monthly photo shoot with your little one.

Capture the First Year’s Changes Through Photography

To really capture those first 12 months here are a few tips.

• Do the photo on the same day every month. The easiest is to do it on the day your baby was born.
• Use the same background so they will look uniform if you frame them later.
• Try to dress your baby in the same color (i obviously forgot this one the 3rd month)
• When photographing a baby remember to do it after a nap or feeding so baby is in the best possible mood.
• Use something to show what month you are photographing.

I have been using wooden number blocks to show what month the picture is from.

• Use the same object as a prop each month to show how big your baby is getting.
