Photography can be an expensive hobby. I have to be honest and admit that I can spend hours looking at all the lenses that are out there, available, for my Canon Rebel XTi. However, our family’s budget doesn’t allow for me to just drop a few hundred dollars on a lens, whenever I see fit. Ramen noodle dinners for-like-ever in exchange for a really cool lens, to feed my photography obsession; I don’t think so.
While drooling looking at lenses, on Amazon.com, one day I found two solutions to my (macro and fisheye) lens envy:
-
Opteka .35x HD² Super Wide Angle Panoramic Macro Fisheye Lens and
Opteka 10x 58mm HD² Professional Macro Lens
I got both of these lens attachments for less than $100.00, and the best thing about them is that they are awesome!
The good news is that they make these attahments for various cameras, not just Canon, like Nikon, Fuji, Kodak, Pentax, Panasonic Lumix, Olympus, Sony and even various camcorders.
This is just another way to expand your photographic horizon.

Mmmm, lenses. *smacks lips*
I want lenses. More lenses. Like a 70-300mm f2.8. Yeah, like $500. your way is much more affordable. Thanks for showing me the options.
OMW!!! I didn’t know about these, and I’ve just found them online in South Africa too! How VERY cool!
GREAT tips! I looked at the fisheye one the other day as well.
These are awesome. I swear!!
Great suggestions Mis! I’ve been wondering what affordable item I could put on a Christmas list. You just answered the question. WOOT!
Great tip! I recently bought my dad a macro adapter (Raynox DCR-250) to go on his Canon S5 IS and he loves it! I borrowed it once for one of my DSLR lenses and it was quite nifty. I might consider this for myself because the macro lens I’m looking at is about $500, while the Raynox adapter was only a fraction of that cost.
I still need to get my Macro on..
great tips. I too drool over lenses. Any tips on how to use the macro lens attachment?
PRM: I will do a write up with tips on how to use the macro attachment!
