“The Golden Hour” is sounds so mysterious and magical, and to photographers it is. The Golden Hour refers to the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset. The sunlight is coming in at an angle and not from directly above and highlights different parts of your subject.
During this little window of time you can capture photos that are:
- softer
- warmer in color
- not overexposed because the sunlight is less intense
- less shadowy
Here is an example of a photo taken during the “Golden Hour”

So check your local weather reports and set your alarms and grab your cameras for the Golden Hour.
