Wanna trick out your flower photos? Here’s a fabulously easy way to turn a pretty good photo into a dramatic and eye catching beauty:
1. Snap a photo of a flower filling up a good portion of the frame. Be sure the sun is either above or behind you and look for flowers with a naturally dark background like this one:
2. Download your photo into Picasa – free software provided by Google that enables you to organize, edit, and share your photos.
3. In Picasa, select the photo you’d like to trick out by double clicking on it
4. Click on the “Tuning” tab
5. Click the “Shadows” bar and drag it to the right until you have darkened the background into solid black like this:
Isn’t it cool? It really is that easy to dramatify your photos! I love how it creates a super high contrast and the flower now floats in the darkness.
