I don’t remember when I first saw her. But I know I first saw her with someone I admire. That’s how it works right? You admire someone and then suddenly you admire everything about them. Including their camera bag. Especially when their camera bag is as lovely as these camera bags and comes in the most delicious jewel tones one has ever laid eyes upon.
Meet Miss Lola Turquoise.
Truth be told, my feelings towards her are slightly more passionate…
You see, I have admired Epiphanie bags from afar for years. I have a very large camera with very large lenses and up until recently the only way to carry such large cameras and their large lenses was in large black bags made of boring black material. Sure, I would throw my camera in my purse occasionally, but have you ever forgotten your camera in there and plunked your purse down on the floor?
You remember quite quickly that your livelihood is crashing around in your unpadded purse with nothing but a thin piece of material between it and its certain demise.
Epiphanie bags are luxuriously padded, and remarkably configurable.
(butterflies not included)
With six fully adjustable dividers the possibilities of your bag will blow your mind. Want to keep your keys and 50 mm separate? Easy. Need to drag along that huge 300 mm lens? Fits. Have an extra camera body? Easy peasy. Have to bring your wallet and lady essentials along? No problem (and even better, no separate bag!)
While I had admired these Epiphanie ladies from afar for years I could never quite turn my back on my trusty, sturdy (yet utterly booooring) black bag. I just couldn’t believe that something that pretty could be as functional as the ol’ LowePro.
Wrong.
While at a conference in a faraway land a month ago I borrowed a friend’s lady (Belle to be specific) and by the end of the day I was convinced that one of these lovely ladies would be mine and that it would be Santa himself who would fulfill my wishes. Well Christmas came early and while I’m sad I won’t get to open her on Christmas day, I am happy because I can tell you with my whole heart that if you are hemming and hawing over the investment in an Epiphanie bag like I was, it is well worth it. Well made, well laid out and just plain luscious.
I even have a friend who bought one as a purse, girl doesn’t even own a camera aside from the one on her iPhone.
Lola is the perfect size for me, she’s the same size as the purse I carry with me on a daily basis. Belle was a bit larger and if you like to carry a lot with you on shoots or in everyday life? She’s the lady for you. There’s also Ginger, Paris and Clover that beg your loving gaze.
There are not many camera bags, if any, that equal the quality, functionality and style of Epiphanie bags, and boy howdy how I’ve looked.
Go ahead…add a beautiful camera bag to your Christmas list. Decorations bought at Tiffany’s are so 1953.
Disclosure: While I’m not entirely sure how I was lucky enough to receive one of these lovelies for a review, I can assure you my thoughts on the bag are pure and true, my opinions are my own and my endorsement is genuine. Also, now that an Epiphanie bag is off my Christmas list, there is a spot open for the Bacon of the Month club.
