Capture the Moment WITH Mom {#MomIsHere}

Sprout Channel Mom Is Here Sweepstakes!

On my iPhone, I have right at 1,400 photos. Some photos are from my recent trip to Disney Social Media Moms, some are from my family’s recent trip to Walt Disney World, lots of daily pics of my five kids and so much more. Want to take a wild guess at how many of those pictures I’m in WITH my kids? Maybe a handful. For real. I rarely get in front of the camera with my kids.

Us moms are generally the ones taking the photos. We don’t stop to ask someone else to snap a shot or, if we’re being honest with ourselves, we don’t really want to be in front of the camera. We’re happy right where we are, hiding on the other side of the lens.

Before we know it our babies will be toddlers. Our toddlers will become tweens. Our tweens will become teenagers. I hesitate to say it…but, it’s so true…our teenagers will be adults. My wish is that I leave behind more than a handful of pictures of myself with them. They deserve that. I want them to remember all of the fun we had while they were growing up!

When I look back through photo albums of my own childhood I will find a handful, at best, of photos of myself with my mom or my grandma. There’s tons of pictures of me. But, none of me WITH them. In today’s digital age there is no excuse for moms not being in the photo with her kids. If you don’t like it, delete it, take another. Just make sure to TAKE ANOTHER!

Want to know the easiest way to get in the photo? Take a selfie! Not only will your kids think it’s cool you even know what a selfie is, but it works. You’ll be IN the photo. It’ll be a moment no one can take away from you. Best thing, your kids will have more than a handful of {out of 1,400} photos of you WITH them! Show your kids often, through photos, that Mom Is Here.

Sprout knows how important it is for moms to be IN the photo. The memories that we need to photograph are fleeting and won’t last forever. Sprout wants to urge moms to stop what they are doing right now, and capture the moment with their child while they are still in the moment.

We encourage YOU to get in the photo. Show your kids Mom Is Here. After you do, you can enter to win an amazing Spa Package from Sprout Channel.

    Thank you for this post. I, like you, realized the heavy ratio of my toddler son’s photos to the ones including me. I sifted through and found one of my favorites and submitted it.

    My son and I are avid Sprout watchers so I’m surprised I didn’t know about this contest, so I’m glad you posted this so that I can make it in in time.

    Thanks again and good luck…that’s a great pic! She’s super cute!
