5 Decorating Tips for a More Beautiful Room

I’ve noticed over the years when doing consultations and visiting homes, that there are a few things that jump out at me when I look at a space. Things that could be improved upon with just a little work and effort.
So, let’s take a look at a few quick and easy ways to improve a room:
- Hang your drapes as high as you can, all the way to the crown molding if possible. This will create a larger, more spacious look.
- Hang your artwork lower than you might think. Again, creating more room for the eye to move through the room.
- Mix the room with textures. Many “solid” colors can even provide texture in the room by choosing textured fabrics.
- Groups your accessories in 3′s or 5′s.
- Rugs either too small or floating in the middle of the room. Fill the room with comfortable flooring!
Which of these five techniques can you implement in your home right now?

Great tips- I’m a big fan of #2. I hate to see artwork too high.
Thanks for the help.
Often to create that cottage look it is good to use various furniture styles such as distressed, rustic or traditional. In a lot of cases we have seen some wonderful designs come out using these styles.
So what’s up with my kitchen? any ideas. I’m victim of a cookie cutter design and I want out! Cabinets have to stay but they are neutral. actually, here’s a tour. Thoughts anyone? help!
