Centerpieces From the Summer Garden

The best way to have a budget friendly flower arrangement, is to use flowers & greens from your own yard.

Morning is an ideal time for cutting or early evening. Roses should be lopped off above new buds or clusters of five leaves. Never, never, never hack your way through a garden; in the best cases, “gathering” should be a service akin to pruning.
In this centerpiece-
- One short Cylinder clear vase.
- One antique clear ”frog” to hold the roses in place.
- 2 vintage tin floral plates
- 5 – 7 roses

{Antique frog}
Ideally, go from gathering to display vase within hours of cutting. If you don’t have a garden to cut from here are some other areas to find flowers-
- A friend’s yard -with permission, of course
- Roadside flower stands
- Farmers markets, many sell locally grown blooms

- www.pickyourown.org

Enjoy your garden even more by bringing your flowers inside. It doesn’t take much just a few flowers, some type of vessel and perhaps something old or vintage. Yes, you can do it; if I can you can.
Happy Day!
