Anyone who has ever visited my blog and looked under the decorating category knows I am a “color” person when it comes to paint and am likely to change things up a bit, just because…. The more color the better.
There are a lot of theories as to which color to paint different rooms. What colors are calming, energizing, good for your waistline, bad for your babies temperment.
Red is good for stimulating both your heart & appetite (this is why a lot of restaurants use red). *ahem*, my kitchen & dining are both red….not sure I wanted to KNOW this info.
Blue is good for relaxing as well as decreasing your appetite and works great in bedrooms and kitchens. (Our bedroom is blue, I’m still hungry in there. LOL)
Yellow speeds up your metabolism but also stimulate appetite. It is a mood lifter too. Be careful with bright yellow though, it can actually increase anxiety in infants, young children and the eldery.
Green works well anywhere in the house. Light green works particularly well in bath and living rooms.
Orange is considered friendly and welcoming. Makes for a good color in the living/family room as well as children’s rooms.
Purple is a unique color in that children respond well to it but many adults do not like it, as far as paint colors go.
Why not pick up a fresh gallon of paint and change your mood today?! Why? Just because…

Thanks, Darla, for the round up of color implications! I guess I need more blue in my house.

I love the color info! Hubby and I have been considering repainting our bedroom for awhile. It’s currently a dark blue. Hubby has decided he hates it and wants to do a more neutral color. I like the blue.
Our living room is light green. Who knew we were on the right track with that!
