It’s time for cookouts and outdoor entertaining. How will you decorate for your 4th of July Patio Party?
Here are some ideas to decorate your space for this patriotic holiday.
Setting Up
- Once you’ve chosen the best spot, cover the table with a tablecloth in red, white or blue… linens bring a luxurious touch.
- Crafts stores are usually full of decorations.
- Inexpensive flowers found at the garden store also help to brighten your porch. Don’t forget to make use of the American flag.
- If you want the party to extend into evening, have lanterns with votive or pillar candles in red, white or blue on hand. Hanging them with ribbon from the ceiling of your porch is fun and stylish. {mason jars work wonderful as lanterns} But one of the easiest ways to light up your porch is plugging strings of tiny white lights into a nearby outlet.
Banners-
- Banners can be made of all kinds of things- paper, fabric, tissue, string etc. Even scrapbook paper. All you need is a hole punch, yarn and paper.
- Banners help to give a festive feel to your party.

-
Using old wood, or distressing new wood made to look old would make a wonderful “banner”
Decorating your porch doesn’t need to be stressful or expensive- use what you have, get the kids involved. A little bit of effort goes a long way. Have fun.
Happy 4th!
