Looking for a beautiful and inexpensive way to decorate? There is nothing more inspiring or stimulating than fresh cut flowers from your yard (or the store) placed attentively around your home.
And what’s better? It will lift your spirits.
Instead of your traditional bouquet in a plain vase placed on the table, think outside the box and beautify your home with nature.
Here are a few ideas you can use when decorating with flowers.
Be unique: Instead of a plane vase, grab a jar. Don’t have a jar? Take an old vase and ribbon, string or straw. Tie a pretty bow around the vase and viola; instant color and class!
Give life to your home: Instead of just placing your bouquet on your dining room table, utilize the space in your home. Place your arrangement on the coffee table, entertainment center, bedroom dresser, bathroom counter or the window sill in your kitchen.
Add some character: One way to add personality to your arrangement is to position lemon slices in your vase prior to placing your flowers. Or take one large bloom, cut off the stem and float it in a crystal bowl filled with water.
Another idea; don’t just stick to one type of flower. Arrange a vase with multiple flowers and fillers or place different arrangements throughout your home. (I.e. one daisy arrangement in the kitchen, one wildflower bouquet in the living room and one azalea piece in the bedroom)
Make it last: To help your flowers last longer, make a fresh cut on the stem at an angle while holding under running water. Prior to placing your flowers in the vase, add just a splash of Sprite, 7-up or a crushed aspirin to the water.
Adding color and change to your décor can be easy. Utilizing what you already have planted around your home is the most inexpensive way to decorate with beauty and life. However, if you aren’t a gardener or live in an apartment, don’t worry; most stores carry inexpensive bouquets year round.
Flowers add warmth, romance, and cheer. So get to work placing those bouquets around the house and trust me, you’ll smile every time you come home!
