You can find design inspiration everywhere. As you travel take the time to stop and really pay attention to your surroundings. You may just find some design inspiration.
Exotic places might not be in your budget, so take a virtual journey to vacations spots you dream of….you may find inspiration there.
On a dream anniversary trip to France- I gathered tons of inspiration from this place- Palace of Versailles, France. You may be thinking to yourself sure if you have millions of dollars. {not the case here}
This is what I was inspired to do- a room full of mirrors.
This is my “Versailles” mirror bathroom. Sure, nothing like the real thing, but every-time I go in there I remember our trip.
- It’s fun to bring our travels home….by incorporating the inspiration in our homes; adding things to our homes from our travels makes our home unique.
- It’s all about contrasts- such as a rustic farm table with a crystal chandelier or simple nesting tables, a decorative mirror re-purposed, a collection of flea market finds, dark and light and vintage and modern all rolled up in one house. {I like to mix things up to avoid a matchy look}
- You don’t have to spend big bucks or travel to Exotic places….some of my best ideas I have found close to my home…on the coast, vintage markets places, hiking, etc.
A home with a mix of items collected from travels and years- to me, its a warm, subtle style that’s easy to live with and never goes out of style.
What inspiration have you found during your travels?
