Placing furniture on the patio is never an easy task. Even when the patio set is brand new and perfect for your home, deciding where to place each piece can be tricky. In order to create the most comfortable groupings, try these simple tips below.
Create a quiet conversation area on the patio by grouping two or three chairs together. A small side table next to them and some outdoor metal wall art on the lattice behind them, will help to create an intimate feel. Try to place this area out of the direct line of traffic flow.
Eating Spots
If your patio is big enough to hold a dining table, place an outdoor patio table close to the home’s backyard entrance. This is especially helpful when carrying plates and platters out, as the table will be close to the door. Choose a table that has ample seating space, but that is also portioned properly to fit in the available patio space.
Play Nook
If you have small children at home or who visit frequently, create a small play nook in one corner of the patio. Wall art trees hanging on the lattice or wall behind the nook can create a playful feel. A weather-resistant outdoor patio box can be used to store miscellaneous toys. Creating a small play nook will keep young ones happy and give adults a chance to talk.
The key to placing furniture on the patio is to choose pieces that fit the space. If you love that oblong table for 15, but your patio can only handle a square table for four, pick the smaller table. With the right pieces you can create simple zones on the patio that will make it a great place for all to hang out.
