Lately I’ve been loving the look of tarnished silver pieces.
This coffee set, Electric & Works, was a barn sale find last summer.
It’s not real silver but I find it’s vintage feel appealing. This particular
barn sale was “fill a bag for 2 bucks!” Yes that’s right! That
barn was loaded with stuff on two floors. There were tons of silver pieces &
I ended up with a few more pieces that I like to use to display shells and
other little knick knacks.
I have a collection of spoons and ladles
piled on this little silver tray. I don’t think I’ll ever get around to
polishing it or using it. It’s the aged patina that appeals to me. Hopefully
when I’m really old I’ll have an aged patina that appeals to someone too!
Since yardsale time will soon be ending
for this year, I’d thought I’d whet your appetite for next season by sharing
these pretty things all collected from yardsales & barn sales. Maybe you’ll
be inspired, or maybe you’ll think it’s just junk.
When I first started going to
yardsales I felt like that, “just a bunch of other people’s junk!”
Well, it IS castoffs that are no longer wanted or needed, but you can find
great things. Keep at it & when you find a treasure you’ll be hooked like
me…….but……..that might not be such a good thing!
